The final race of the 2007 season is in the books. Records were broken and champions were crowned. The race was actually two races in one day. The first race was a continuation from December 1st race. We ran the third and final round of qualifying and then in to eliminations.

 

 In that third round of qualifying Mark Rollings grabbed TQ in the Bracket class with a .034 reaction time. Mark also TQ'd in the Nitro Top Fuel class with a 1.58. Brian Boudakian was #2 qualifier with a 1.70. Chris Smith took TQ in the very close Extreme class with a 1.41, Will Martin was #2 qualifier with a 1.42. In Bracket class eliminations it was Nick Skinner taking home the win over Mark Rollings. In the Nitro Top Fuel class it was Brian Hunnel who made his way from the #3 spot to take home the win. He beat out Dean butts, Austin Hunsaker and Alex Garza on his way to the race win. In the Extreme class it was Chris Smith taking home the win from the # 1 spot. He beat out Tim Smith(not related) and Will Martin on his way the race win.

  Now on to the Dec 15th race. We ran 3 rounds of qualifying and then on to eliminations. In the Bracket class it was Randy S. taking TQ with a .004 reaction time. But it was Gary K. taking the event win over Randy S. in a very close race. In the Funny car class it was Nick Skinner taking TQ once again with a 1.71 @ 82 mph. But when it came down to the finals it was Frank Ibarra taking home the event win over Randy S. This is Frank Ibarra's second win in the funny car class. In the Nitro Top Fuel Class it was Mark Rollings taking TQ once again with a 1.62 @ 81 mph. But in the end it was Brian Boudakian taking home the event win over Brian Hunnel in a very close race.. Both Brians were running very consistent 1.6's, 1.7's all day long. In the Extreme class it was Jim The Rainman Schauer taking TQ with a 1.3249 witch is now the Extreme record. Jim Schauer also took home the event win with a 1.42 over Chris Smith.

 After the day was done and everyone went home the points totals were added up and we came up with three champions.
Nick Skinner is the Combined Funny Car Class Champion.
Mark Rollings Is the Nitro Top Fuel Class Champion.
Jim The Rainman Schauer Is the Extreme Class Champion.
Congratulations to the 2007 MHRA Class Champions. Congratulations to all the racer that competed this year. This has been an awesome year for the MHRA and for all the MHRA racers. A big thanks goes out to Mike Smith, our fearless president, race director and Jim Schauer for keeping the MHRA going.

 Who knows what 2008 has in store for the MHRA but I can I'm sure its going to be a blast. See ya in 08'.
