The IMDRA Western Nationals have come and gone. During the three day event several records were broken. It was a hot one with temps nearing the 100 degree mark, but despite the heat records still fell. In the extreme class it was Jim the Rainman Schauer taking TQ, the event win and set a new extreme record at a 1.32. In the Electric Top Fuel class it was a battle between Pat McDonald and the Rainman. Pat wound up taking TQ, the event win and set the new Elc. Top Fuel record at a 1.54. In Nitro Top Fuel it was Mark Rollings taking top qualifier with a 1.51. Mark also took the event win and set the new Nitro Top Fuel record at a 1.53. In the Nitro Top Fuel Funny Car/ProMod class it was Marc Davidson taking TQ and setting a new promod MPH record at 80.98 MPH. When it cams to the finals it was Frank Ibarra taking the win over Drew Liggan. It was Frank's and Drew's first national event. In the Electric Top Fuel Funny Car/ ProMod Class it was Randy Spiering taking Tq with a 1.71. Randy also took the event win over Nick Skinner. Randy set a new MPH record at 76.10 MPH. In the Bracket class it was Nick Skinner taking TQ but when it came down to the finals it was Jim Schauer taking the win over Ronda Knowlton. This was Ronda's first national event. Congratulations to all the winners and to all the new record holders. It was a fun event. A big THANK YOU goes out to Mike Smith and Floyd Vick for running the event flawlessly. Thanks to all the sponsors VP Fuels, Castle Creations, HPI Racing, Litespeed Engineering, and Team Walbern. Thanks to Billy Weeks of RSP for providing bodies to give away.
