The July 19th race has come and gone. Wile we were there records were broken, well one record was shattered. That record was in the funny car class. Nick Skinner of Vegas Jim Racing started off qualifying with a record breaking 1.67 second pass witch made him TQ. The 3 cell funny car record before was a 1.72. He backed that up with another 1.67. Nick's next pass lowered the record even more as he runs an awesome 1.63. Then during eliminations Nick resets the record again, this time he runs an incredible 1.57 at 83 mph. The very next round he backed that up with blistering 1.56 at 84 mph. Nick went on to take the event win over Mike Smith. In the Bracket class it was Gary Kirkpatrick taking the number one spot with an awesome .018 light. Gary would make it to the finals against Tim Smith, Tim would pick up the win when Gary broke out. Now on to Nitro Top Fuel. Mark Rollings took top qualifier and met up with the June race winner Austin Hunsaker. Mark picked up the win as Austin red lit.

It was exciting racing under the lights at MHRA Raceway as it always is. August 16 we will be doing it again. Track will be open for testing at 2:30-3:00pm and qualifying will start at 4:30 on the dot. See ya out there.
