What a year what a year, The MHRA 2009 season is over. The final race of the ’09 season was did not disappoint. Getting right to the action in the Bracket class it was Randy Spearing taking the number one spot with an in-creatable .0005 reaction time. When it came down the the finals it was a battle of the Mitchell family. Father Mike Mitchell against daughter Taylor Mitchell, Taylor would pull off the win and take home the bragging rights. A champion was crowned in the 2-cell class. Chris Smith was crowned 2-cell champion after he took the top qualifier with a 1.5223 and won the race over Jim Schauer with a 1.6186. Next was the crazy Electric Funny Car class where Brain B. took the top qualifying spot with a 1.5353. Brian met up with Mark R. in the finals where Brian would take the win with a 1.6297 second pass. On the the Electric Top Fuel class it was Mike Smith taking the top spot with a 1.4034. When it came to the finals it was the number 2 qualifier Brian B. taking on number 3 qualifier Chris Smith. Chris Smith would take the win over Brian with a 1.6168 pass. The Extreme class was next where Chris Smith once again dominated with record setting runs. Chris was the number one qualifier and set both ends of the Extreme class record with a blistering 1.2608 at 110.15mph. Chris would take the win when Nic Case could not make the call. Finally it was the noise making machines of the Nitro Top Fuel class. Mark Rollings took the number one spot with a 1.6748 second pass. Mark made it to the finals where he met up with his teammate Austin Larsen who came from the number 5 spot. Mark would grab the win with a 1.7199 to Austins slowing 1.9812. While Mark won the race Brian Boudakin took the championship for the second year in a row. Congradulations to all our 2009 MHRA Points Champions.
